Remember Me

Today is Maundy Thursday.
It is a solemn day and a solemn night.
Tonight we remember the dinner where Jesus last sat with his disciples.
A night of intimate friendship
of betrayal
of celebration
of darkness.
The night he asked "remember me."
Today
Tonight
How will you remember?
How will you imitate the actions of the life of Jesus?
How will you remember his commandments?
Repent
Follow me
Rejoice
Shine your light
Reconcile
Keep your word
Turn the other check
Go the second mile
Love your enemies
Seek God's Kingdom
Use right judgement
Treat others how you'd want to be treated
Look out for false prophets
Do not despise little ones
Forgive
Serve others
Feed the hungry
Give to those who can't give to you
Watch out for greed
Love your neighbor as yourself
May you start today
Remembering Jesus.
Let me go over with you again exactly what goes on in the Lord’s Supper and why it is so centrally important. I received my instructions from the Master himself and passed them on to you. The Master, Jesus, on the night of his betrayal, took bread. Having given thanks, he broke it and said,
This is my body, broken for you.
Do this to remember me.
After supper, he did the same thing with the cup:
This cup is my blood, my new covenant with you.
Each time you drink this cup, remember me.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26, MSG
